Message of the Secretary-General

Dear Friends,

It’s my distinct honour and pleasure to welcome you all to the 2nd Bucharest International Student Model United Nations, which will be held at the Faculty of Law of the University of Bucharest in March. I would like to grab this opportunity and invite you all to the city of Bucharest, for unforgettable days and nights.

The Board, together with the Organizing Committee and the Secretariat, are working diligently and passionately to provide the delegates with a substantive program, that is unparalleled in its creativity and its accuracy. BISMUN strives for excellence in its committees and we hope to expand the quality across our conference as we set the creative tone for the Model UN circuit. Studying world affairs and creating policies, BISMUN hopes to transform the students to future leaders and help them create unforgettable memories.

BISMUN offers you one of the most cherished and educational experiences, an effective tool to learn about the complexities of the world, how international community deals with economic and environmental concerns, human rights violations, disarmament and political conflicts and other global problems.  BISMUN is a place where you can enhance communication skills, learn about other countries, promote democracy, explore conflict resolutions and develop negotiations.

Your participation requires preparation as to the structure and functions of the Organizations, the Committees to which you are assigned, the issues of the agenda, the policies of the assigned country concerning these issues and mostly about the rules of procedure. You must behave as a real diplomat and dress as one. You are expected to be punctual, always present and very active during the sessions.

BISMUN is also a great opportunity to discover the beautiful city of Bucharest. Our conference is surrounded by a rocking social schedule, which will get the delegates to the hotspots of the city and explore the nightlife - and not only - of Bucharest.
